It is the story of a journey that has both sweet and sour memories. It is the informal history of the 13-month war... This book is about the youth from the diaspora who went to fight with the volunteers on the Abkhazian side during the Georgian-Abkhazian War of 1992-1993.

These are the memoirs of Ashba, then only 23 years-old, and his friends. Through his personal story, we witness the transformation of diasporic identity, the challanges of travels to Abkhazia, the memories from the war, all of which are documents of a lived history: the ones who went to fight in Abkhazia; those who never came back; friendship; and the unbreakable solidarity of the heart...; the anatomy of a war...; the mythical courage and challenges of a group of friends...
