Nomination of Presidential Candidates in Abkhazia Started on October 13 |

October 14 - SUKHUM, ABKHAZIA - On October 13 nomination of presidential candidates started in Abkhazia. According to the legislation and the planned schedule of the main measures on preparation and holding of the Presidential Elections in the Republic of Abkhazia registration of initiative groups and political parties, as well as nomination of presidential candidates is carried out from October 13 through November 2, 2009.
Registration of presidential candidates is carried out by the Central Election Commission from October 13 through November 12. Within two days after registration the Central Election Commission publishes in the press official statements about registration of presidential candidates.
The register of voters is hung out for general examination ten days prior to the elections, namely on December 2.

One – two days prior to the elections (December 10-11), local election commissions are provided with ballots.
The vote on the Election Day will be held on December 12 from 8am till 8pm.
The results of the presidential elections will be published within three days after the vote, till December 15.
If necessary the second vote is held not later than two weeks from the date of elections.
