CONFERENCE Independence of Abkhazia and Prospects for the Caucasus 30 - 31 May 2009, İstanbul İstanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi (University), Dolapdere Campus, BS2

The Friends of Abkhazia Civil Initiative is organizing a conference on “Independence of Abkhazia and Prospects for the Caucasus (30-31 May 2009, Istanbul)”. The conference is being organized together with “İstanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi (University)”(www.bilgi.edu.tr).

We are calling for a discussion on a long debated and controversial issue in international politics: Abkhazia’s current and future situation, propects for the Caucasus. Academicans, journalists and NGO representatives from Abkhazia, Canada, Europe, USA and Turkey are invited to attend our conference.

The speakers of the conference are John Colarusso, George Hewitt, Viacheslav Chirikba, Arda Inal-Ipa,Charlotte Hille, Erol Taymaz, Hasan Kanbolat. Lawrence Sheets, Liana Kvarchelia, Maksim Gunjia, Marino Busdachin, Manana Gurgulya, Irakli Khintba, Mitat Çelikpala, Nikolai Zlobin.
