Abkhazian Foreign Ministry Delegation Visits Nicaragua for Sandinista Revolution Anniversary
Abkhazia Strengthens Diplomatic Ties with Nicaragua During Official Visit.
SUKHUM / AQW’A — A delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia has arrived in Nicaragua to take part in celebrations marking the 46th anniversary of the Sandinista Revolution.
As part of the commemorative events, Abkhazia’s Foreign Minister Oleg Bartsits held a meeting with his Nicaraguan counterpart, Iván Gil Pinto, on the sidelines of the official festivities.
According to the Abkhaz Foreign Ministry, the two ministers discussed a wide range of issues concerning bilateral cooperation and expressed mutual interest in strengthening ties between the two countries.
During the talks, Minister Bartsits extended an official invitation to Minister Gil Pinto to visit the Republic of Abkhazia.
The visit underscores Abkhazia’s ongoing efforts to deepen diplomatic engagement with Latin American partners who have formally recognised its independence. Nicaragua remains one of a small number of countries to have established official relations with Abkhazia following its declaration of independence.
