Within the framework of a TV project of the Honor is Higher than Life Union of Abkhazian volunteers of Kabardino-Balkaria together with the VGTRK State Television and Radio Company Kabardino-Balkaria, a screening of the documentary film “The Last Knights of the 20th Century” about the volunteers from Kabardino-Balkaria who fought in Abkhazia will take place in the State Concert Hall on Shogentsukov Street at 1800 on 30 January.  Entrance to the event is free.

A CD of the People's Artist of Abkhazia and Honoured Artist of Russia, soloist of the Moscow “Helikon Opera" theatre Alisa Gitsba, has been released by the Moscow Conservatory. It was recorded during a recital in the Small Hall of the Conservatory in February of last year.

Aleksandr Ankvab signed an Executive Order declaring 2014 the year of Dmitri Iosifovich Gulia.

2014 being the 140th anniversary of Dmitri Gulia, founder of Abkhazian literature, writer, and People’s poet, an organising-committee for holding events dedicated to this historical date has been created by Presidential Executive Order.

President Ankvab attended the opening ceremony of a monument to the first professional Abkhazian artist, a decorator, and a set designer, Duke Alexander Chachba (Shervashidze).
