Ingushetia Ranks Second to Last in Russian Regions' Quality of Life Rankings

On February 13, 2022, RIA Novosti released its latest ranking of Russian regions based on the quality of life. The ranking was compiled using data from various sources, including Rosstat, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank, and other publicly available sources.

A total of 67 indicators were considered in the calculation of the ranking, including factors such as the average income of the population, employment, housing conditions, safety, demographics, environmental and climatic conditions, education levels, and health status of the population. The ranking ranges from a score of 0 to 100, with 100 being the highest possible score.

In the latest ranking of Russian regions based on quality of life, the Krasnodar Territory maintained its top position from 2021, securing 5th place with a score of 71.186. Meanwhile, the Rostov Region experienced a drop, falling from 14th place to 15th place with a score of 61.301. Adyghea remained in 22nd place with a score of 58.004, while the Stavropol Territory rose from 27th to 25th place with a score of 57.399.

The Volgograd region remained unchanged in 42nd place with a score of 51.170. Kabardino-Balkaria improved its ranking, rising from 75th place to 65th place with a score of 44.186, while the Astrakhan region dropped from 62nd to 66th place with a score of 44.172.

Chechnya rose in the ranking, moving from 74th to 67th place with a score of 43.862. Dagestan also improved its ranking, moving from 69th to 68th place with a score of 43.118. North Ossetia regained two positions, rising from 76th to 74th place with a score of 40.336. Kalmykia improved its performance, rising from 79th to 78th place with a score of 36.500, and Karachay-Cherkessia saw a significant improvement, rising from an undisclosed place to 80th place with a score of 35.112.

The southern region of Ingushetia performed the worst in the ranking, securing 84th place with a score of 31.271. This is a drop from its 82nd place position in the previous year. At the opposite end of the spectrum, Moscow claimed the top spot in the ranking with a score of 82,999. The Republic of Tuva, on the other hand, took the last place with a score of 23,758.
