Mussa Ekzekov Meets with Syrian Ambassador to Russia Bashar al-Jaafari

SUKHUM / AQW'A ― Mussa Ekzekov, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the World Abaza Congress (WAC), met with Bashar al-Jaafari, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Russian Federation.

The meeting took place at the Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in the Russian Federation on Thursday, April 20, and was also attended by Alkhas Kvitsinia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Russian Federation.

During the meeting, Mussa Ekzekov offered financial assistance to Syrians affected by the powerful earthquake that occurred on February 6, 2023, as a sign of solidarity. He also conveyed words of support to Syria's leadership, expressed sincere condolences to the families of the deceased, and wished a speedy recovery to the victims.

"On behalf of the World Abaza Congress, which unites all Abkhazians and Abaza around the world, and on my own behalf, I convey words of support to the leadership of the Syrian Arab Republic, represented by President Bashar al-Assad and the fraternal Syrian people. I express my deep condolences to the families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to all the injured. May our brotherhood be eternal!" said Ekzekov.

In response, al-Jaafari highly appreciated the support of the Abkhaz-Abaza people and expressed gratitude for the generous assistance from Mussa Ekzekov, the head of the WAC. He noted that the active participation of Abaza representatives in helping Syria from the first days after the natural disaster demonstrates the strong ties of friendship between the peoples of Syria and Abkhazia.

The meeting between Mussa Ekzekov and Bashar al-Jaafari highlights the significance of international solidarity and the unique role diplomacy plays in fostering collaboration and mutual understanding among nations.

In a world facing numerous challenges, the message of solidarity, friendship, and brotherhood stands as a beacon of hope, reminding us of the enduring power of human compassion and empathy.

Also present at the meeting were Madina Avidzba, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of Abkhazia in Russia, and Kan Tania, Head of Staff of the Chairman of the WAC and Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia.

The WAC leadership expresses its gratitude to Alkhas Kvitsinia, Ambassador of Abkhazia in Russia, and Madina Avidzba, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy, for their assistance in organising the high-level meeting.

As a conclusion to the meeting, the participants exchanged memorable gifts.
