Viacheslav Chirikba and Antti Turunen discussed the agenda of the forthcoming round of the Geneva talks

SUKHUM -- Abkhazian Foreign Minister Viacheslav Chirikba held a meeting with the Special UN Representative at the Geneva talks, Antti Turunen. During the course of the meeting were discussed the agenda for the upcominground of the Geneva talks, as well as suggestions and ideas for overcoming the complicated situation around the Mechanism for Conflict Prevention and Response to Incidents / MPRI /.

Abkhazia’s Foreign Minister noted that "there is a crisis in relation to the situation around the MPRI, and, to emerge from it, there should an adequate reaction to the terrorist acts committed by the Georgian side in the Gal district." This, according to Viacheslav Chirikba, is the main task of the mechanism.

"Since 29 December 2011 eleven murders have been committed which have not been reflected in the report of the Head of the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia / ECMM /, Andrzej Tyszkiewicz. Our position with regard to Tyszkiewicz remains one of principle," declared the Foreign Minister of Abkhazia.

The next round of Geneva talks will be held on 7-8 June.
