SUKHUM / AQW'A ―  The delegation from the Parliament of Abkhazia commenced its working visit to Türkiye on December 19th. This visit, highlighted by important meetings, was reported by the Parliament's press office.

During an in-depth dialogue, Ibrahim Avidzba, the Official Representative of Abkhazia in Türkiye, enlightened the deputies on the Representative Office's principal activities. The mission's primary objectives are the reinforcement and cultivation of intra-diasporal relations, strengthening connections with the historical homeland, provision of consular services, support for compatriots, and the enactment of foreign policy initiatives. A pivotal aspect of their mission is to enhance the perception of Abkhazia within Türkiye comprehensively.

The Abkhazian delegation includes Rashida Ayba, Venori Bebiya, Batal Dzhopua, Narsou Salakaya, Demur Gogiya, and Inar Gitsba. Accompanying them are Vadim Kharazia, Chairman of the State Repatriation Committee; Aslan Sangulia, Head of the Legal Department of the State Committee for Repatriation; and Enver Chamagua, Head of the Repatriation Fund.

A notable highlight was the meeting with Levent Atryshba, Chairman of the Federation of Abkhaz Cultural Centres (ABHAZFED). Discussions centred on enhancing initiatives that foster the development of projects crucial for studying the Abkhaz language within the diaspora and for preserving and evolving ethnocultural values, traditions, and customs.

The delegation's itinerary also includes visits to various settlements densely inhabited by members of the Abkhaz-Abaza diaspora.

This pivotal visit of the Abkhazian delegation to the Republic of Türkiye is scheduled to conclude on December 21st.
