KAFFED Shares Insights from Abkhazia Visit in Recent Statement
KAFFED is the largest and most influential North Caucasian umbrella organisation in Turkey.
SUKHUM / AQW'A ― The KAFFED (Federation of the Caucasian Associations) recently made a statement about KAFFED delegation's visit to Abkhazia and the meetings held during the first week of February. In their statement, KAFFED emphasized the importance of the meetings with high-ranking Abkhazian officials, including President Aslan Bzhania, and discussed various areas of cooperation explored during the visit.

As is known, our Federation's Vice Presidents Yasemin Oral and Murat Özden, Board Members Tülin Özgül, Özen Atçı, and Şamil Yağan, Audit Board Member Nart Yüksel, Istanbul Caucasian Cultural Association Vice President Funda Altıok Diyner, and Ankara Circassian Association Vice President Şamil Keleş, formed a delegation that visited the Republic of Abkhazia from January 30 to February 3 for official meetings. However, due to an earthquake that occurred shortly after the visit, public information about the trip was not immediately available.

The delegation's first official meeting took place with President Aslan Bzhania. Attending the meeting at the Presidential Office on February 1, 2023, were President Aslan Bzhania, Vice President Badra Gunba, Prime Minister Aleksandr Ankvab, Foreign Minister Inal Ardzinba, and Demography President Vadim Kharazia. Over the course of the approximately two-hour meeting, a comprehensive briefing on the Federation of Caucasian Associations was provided to the delegation led by President Bzhania. Additionally, information and opinions were exchanged on areas of cooperation, including the Republic of Abkhazia and diaspora relations, citizenship, student quotas, and cultural and language education activities for young people and children.
Upon concluding the highly productive meeting, artwork created by our esteemed artisans, Esen Kucba and Şeneser Tokmak, was presented to President Aslan Bzhania and Prime Minister Aleksandr Ankvab.
