Demand for holidays in Abkhazia exceeded last year's figures by 30%

SUKHUM / AQW'A ― Early bookings for vacations in Abkhazia have already surpassed last year's numbers by 30%, according to the Ministry of Tourism. Tourists are showing the greatest interest in hotels located in Sukhum, Gagra, and New Athos for the upcoming May holidays.

In the Aitar guesthouse, bookings have reached 80%, while the Samshitovaya Grove guesthouse has seen a 90% booking rate. Accommodation prices for two guests with meals at Aitar range from 2,700 to 3,000 rubles ($36.08 to $40.10), while at the Boxwood Grove, the cost is 6,550 rubles ($87.51) with breakfast for two.

In Gagra, prices vary from 4,800 rubles ($64.08) for a stay with meals for two at the Sun-Palace Hotel to 13,500 rubles ($180.45) for a stay with three meals a day for two guests at the Amra Park Hotel. At the Eco-Papa Hotel in Gudauta, a vacation for two with half board is priced at 4,000 rubles ($53.40).

Accommodation providers are eagerly awaiting guests and actively preparing for the beginning of the summer holiday season. Abkhazia currently has around 39,000 beds available. On average, new upscale hotels providing high-quality service and a variety of amenities catering to modern tourists are already more than 50% booked for the May holidays.
