Marem Gökhan Şen Preserving Circassian and Abkhaz Lullabies With His New Album
ISTANBUL — The album "Çerkes Ninenin Ninnileri" (Circassian Grandmother's Lullabies) curated by Marem Gökhan Şen, was released on World Mother Language Day under the Kalan Music label.
Marem Gökhan Şen, celebrated for his "Circassian Melodies I & II" albums among the Turkish Circassian diaspora, has launched his new album featuring a collection of lullabies in the Circassian and Abkhaz languages to coincide with World Mother Language Day.
Published by Kalan Music, an esteemed independent record label from Istanbul, the album is enriched by Şen’s vocal renditions and includes performances by Koshiy Mehtap Koşak, Kymza Eda Özkan, Nadzhe Berrin Mangır, Hadzhkasim Tülin Özgül, Sadzba Sabahat Fidan, and Marem Bertan Şen.
